GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) Refresher*

The Global Wind Organization Basic Safety Training (GWO-BST) course is the introductory safety training standard to work on wind turbines. The 4 BST modules (Working At Heights, First Aid, Manual Handling, and Fire Awareness) will be taught in both theoretical and practical settings and will enable students to learn the basic safety and emergency procedures for working at height.

Course Duration: 3 Days

Certificate validity (months): 24

Revalidation: The course must be revalidated every 2 years.

Items to bring: Government Issued Photographic ID e.g. Driver’s License or Passport, and safety work boots.

Language: Training available in English/ Spanish.

 

Completing this course will allow you to:
  • Identify possible fire hazards within the wind industry and understand how to control and mitigate these hazards
  • Administer safe and effective first aid in a wind turbine industry in accordance with GWO
  • Correctly performing manual handling activities in the wind industry wind turbine environment
  • Perform safe and comprehensive basic rescue from height in a remote turbine environment while meeting emergency response requirements for personnel new to the global wind industry
